This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Own Brand Design team as an Assistant Designer, with experience in designing own-brand ranges for Boyswear (3 months-16 years). Our Design team operates across London and Liverpool, with some travel between sites as required.
About The Role
The Assistant Designer will support the line manager in driving positive sales and developing new, trend-led ranges for our Own Brand Boys range (3 months to 16 years). You should be able to think like a buyer when developing best-seller updates, while bringing a creative eye that pushes for newness within the range.
Applicants must have competency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel & InDesign.
Responsibilities
* Work on Casual / Jersey / Leisure / Wovens / Knits / Denim lines
* Previous experience in designing boyswear
* Coordinate with core supply chain to meet milestones in the critical path
* Assist in fabric sourcing, designing proto samples, fit approvals, print & lab dip approvals
* Prepare technical design briefs for sample development across kids, menswear and licence teams
* Assist in range planning with buying and merchandising, prep for sign-offs
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to inform design decisions
* Incorporate feedback and communicate amendments to suppliers
* Regularly review best/worst sellers, customer feedback, and online product awareness
* Build strong internal and external relationships to maximise opportunities
About You / Qualifications
* Essential: previous design experience, ideally at least 3 years in a retailer or brand
* Experience designing casual, jersey or athletic leisure / sportswear
* Technical proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Excel
* Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships (internal, external, international)
* Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills
* Ability to prioritise and manage workload
