2 x TIG Pipewelders required for a specialist pipework and fabrication company expanding to a new site and workshop in 2026. The role is permanent after a 26‑week temporary period, with a long weekend off (Monday‑Thursday) and paid breaks. Free parking is provided.
Pay: OTE £54,440.10 (£46,191.60 basic, £21.15 ph, PAYE for standard 42 h + 1.5 × overtime Fridays, average 5 h).
Responsibilities
* Weld to X‑ray standard on stainless and carbon steel (mild) materials.
* Read drawings and cut/fabricate pipe spools unsupervised.
* Perform TIG and MAG welding (majority of work).
* Pass a welding test at interview (TIG stainless 54‑89 mm diameter, 2‑5.49 mm wall, MAG carbon 114 mm diameter, 4.54 mm wall).
* Weld at positions PA/PB.
* Work onsite when required; strong mechanical assembly and fitting skills needed.
* Fabricate pipes, flanges, plant rooms and skids to very high specification onto pipe spools.
* Perform general fabrication shop duties across the shift.
* Adhere to strict health and safety standards set by the company.
Qualifications & Experience
* Skilled with proven fabrication and pipe welding experience (stainless and mild steels) for more than 2 years.
* Or have necessary qualifications/time‑served experience in MIG/TIG welding within a similar engineering environment.
* Driving licence is ideal due to site location outside Leeds and potential wagon driving.
Working Conditions
* Permanent contract after successful completion of 26‑week temporary period.
* Location: Morley, Leeds (commutable from Shipley, Otley, Bradford, Wakefield, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Halifax and local train stations).
* Monday‑Thursday work schedule with consecutive long weekends.
