Senior Project Manager – Energy Sector
Location: Hampton or Rickmansworth offices (hybrid working available).
Salary: £80 000 – £90 000 plus car allowance, bonus and benefits.
Reports to: Operations Manager / Framework Director.
We’re looking for someone to lead the overall direction, coordination, implementation and completion of specific projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, time, cost and safety targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards across the workforce and subcontractors.
* Ensure the Building Management System (BMS) is implemented at all stages from tender handover to project completion.
* Maintain good client relationships and the company’s reputation, building relationships with joint‑venture partners and suppliers.
* Ensure sufficient trained personnel are available and that roles are clear.
* Plan projects, review and approve the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and monitor and control delivery.
* Prepare, approve and manage detailed construction plans and method statements before commencement.
* Verify that, on completion, all PEP records are complete and available.
* Report and quantify any site non‑conformities.
* Manage commercial aspects, providing accurate forecasts and estimates.
* Implement quality, safety and environmental policies and targets.
* Deliver projects that meet customer requirements and enhance satisfaction.
* Apply practical knowledge to water and wastewater design‑build projects.
* Lead the project from conception to end‑user acceptance.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* Project management of multi‑disciplinary design and construction projects, preferably in water or related process industries.
* Degree or equivalent in construction, commercial or engineering discipline.
* Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills; ability to work closely with clients, stakeholders and end users.
* Delivery‑driven with ability to set targets and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams to meet time, cost and quality objectives.
* Extensive experience in project delivery, strategic, operational, technical and management skills.
* Knowledge of construction contracts (NEC and/or IChemE) with negotiation and administration skills.
* Risk and opportunity management experience.
* Knowledge of CDM and construction health & safety.
Desirable
* Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
* Chartered status in an engineering, commercial or construction institution.
* NEC Project Manager accreditation.
