Orthoptist - Scunthorpe

As an Orthoptist working as part of the orthoptic/ophthalmic team, you will provide orthoptic care to paediatric and adult caseload, liaising closely with ophthalmic, nursing and administrative colleagues. You will provide support to junior staff members as well as play an active role in the teaching and supervision of undergraduate orthoptic students.
Main duties
* Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of ocular motility disorders, amblyopia, strabismus, and visual function problems.
* Undertake specialist orthoptic assessments for paediatric, adult, and special needs patients.
* Contribute to extended roles such as stroke, neuro-ophthalmology, or low vision clinics (depending on service needs and training).
* Provide orthoptic input into multidisciplinary clinics (e.g., paediatric ophthalmology, maxillofacial, neurology and stroke).
* Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records in line with Trust and HCPC requirements.
* Work cross site between Scunthorpe General Hospital, Goole District Hospital and the Orthoptic Department at Grimsby.
Person specification
* Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Orthoptics.
* Experience in extended role.

Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year per annum pro rata.
