About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Head of IT to lead and evolve our technology function during a period of transformation. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing IT operations, managing a multi-disciplinary team, and driving the consolidation of multiple IT environments into a unified, efficient structure.
Our organisation operates entirely within an Azure Cloud environment, with cybersecurity services delivered via an external partner. As we wind down several long-term projects, the successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the integration of multiple IT estates into a single, cohesive environment
* Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability
* Manage and develop a team of approximately 18 internal staff, alongside third-party providers
* Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors and partners, ensuring strong collaboration and delivery
* Take ownership of IT contract management, including supplier performance and value optimisation
* Drive continuous improvement across service delivery, systems, and processes
* Collaborate across the organisation to align IT strategy with business objectives
Team & Structure
You will operate within a matrix environment, working across:
* IT Service Desk
* IT Projects Team
* Core IT Function
This role requires a leader who can bring teams together, build alignment, and foster a high‑performing culture.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role (Head of IT or similar)
* Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure / cloud-based environments
* Demonstrated ability to manage third‑party vendors and external partners
* Solid understanding of IT contract management and supplier governance
* Experience leading teams through change, transformation, or integration projects
* Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
