Overview
An opportunity has arisen to join us as an Assistant Sales Manager at Mercedes-Benz of Epsom. The main purpose is to assist the General Sales Manager in developing a Retail Used Car Sales strategy for the site.
Responsibilities
* Managing the Used Retail Sales function and assuming full control of the department. Duties in addition to current Retail Manager duties involved are:
* Continually review the financial situation, examining all accounts, daily and weekly operating controls and dealer composite figures and franchise/industry KPI's, taking corrective measures and actions as deemed necessary
* Management of branch demonstrators to satisfy customer requirements and optimise company financial opportunity/minimise exposure
* Plan, organise, direct, coach, lead and motivate the Sales Team, taking steps to create a professional and customer focussed environment
* Identify Lost Sale opportunities with GSM and New Car ASM to maximise opportunities
* Ensure the used vehicle display is presented professionally in line with Mercedes-Benz guidelines using the approved appraisal system
* Respond promptly to any customer complaints and ensure timely and correct resolution; each complaint should be logged in the departmental complaint log
* Maintain effective control of expenses in line with budget objectives
* Ensure all reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner including company documents
* Control preparation costs and standards by working closely with the After Sales Manager
* Regularly monitor the length of time vehicles remain at the dealership and associated costs, and adjust prices accordingly
* Manage overage stock to within company guidelines
* Deliver planned F&I penetration and income
* Agreed sales targets are monitored with everyone involved on a regular reviewed basis and performance aligned
* Ensure sales training needs are met efficiently and are in line with operational requirements
* Maintain Company standards and controls
* Completion of Sales Executive reviews to ensure performance is being managed and monitored in line with company targets

By doing this, you acknowledge that you understand our role as a credit broker, and that we will receive a financial incentive if you take out a loan from a lender that we introduce you to.
You will require a high level of attention to detail; be FCA accredited: knowledge of finance and related systems; knowledge of insurance products; understanding of car valuations and advanced negotiation skills.
Working hours and benefits
The showroom is open from 08:00 – 18:30 Monday to Friday, Saturday 08:30 – 17:00 and Sunday 10:00 – 16:00. Weekend work on a rota basis will be required; a 5-day week will be worked. Total: 42.5 hours per week. Competitive salary package and a Company car are provided with this role. A full driving licence is a requirement of this role.
