Does this sound like you? A passionate Insights Analytics Engineer with experience bridging Finance, Data Engineering, and the wider business. You love all things data and are excited by joining a scale-up in its growth journey.
What you’ll do
Reporting to an Analytics Engineering team lead, you will partner closely with the Finance team to deliver the data, reporting, and insight they need for forecasting, shareholder MI, and regulatory requirements.
* Design, build, and maintain robust data models and pipelines to ensure finance and other teams have access to accurate, trusted data.
* Develop and optimise Power BI dashboards and reports for Finance and wider business stakeholders.
* Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for decision-making.
* Ensure accuracy, governance, and lineage across datasets critical to financial reporting.
* Support self-service BI by enabling Finance and other teams to explore and interrogate data confidently.
* Contribute to the development of our data platform ensuring scalability as the business grows.
* Contribute to the creation of a single source of truth for business metrics — defining, documenting, and maintaining a data dictionary to ensure consistency and clarity across teams.
What you’ll bring
* Strong SQL skills and experience building data models and pipelines using dbt on cloud warehouses (preferably Databricks or similar platforms).
* Hands-on experience in Power BI, particularly financial dashboards and performance reporting.
* Solid understanding of financial metrics, accounting structures, and regulatory reporting needs (experience supporting a Finance team is a big plus).
* Ability to balance technical build (ETL, modelling, data engineering) with analytical insight (storytelling, stakeholder comms).
* Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services (Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric a bonus).
* Excellent communication skills, able to work cross-functionally and explain data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
* Proactive problem solver with a delivery mindset.
