Our Woodview provision is for secondary-aged students with special educational needs, including speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) and autistic spectrum conditions (ASC).
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our successful team, providing the best support to our community daily. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an engaging and rewarding environment, supporting young people with motor neurological difficulties.
About The Role
To provide a high-quality education support service to students, in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards set by the regulatory body.
Hours: 40 hours per week. Term Time only (39 weeks)
Salary: £21,783 - £21,943 pa (£12.21 - £12.30 per hour). (FTE 52wks £25,397 - £25,584)). Dependent upon experience
Job Responsibilities
1. Support the class teacher to ensure the delivery of high-quality education for all students.
2. Provide relevant and appropriate support to students, individually or in groups, to help them access the curriculum independently.
3. Assist in organizing the classroom, resources, student groupings, and displays to create a stimulating learning environment for students with ASC/SLCN/Complex Needs.
4. Work with and manage sensory needs, enabling learners to adopt self-regulatory strategies as advised by the professional team.
5. Keep records in accordance with company policies and standards set by the regulatory body.
6. Stay updated with specified subject areas, educational practices, and SEND-related information.
7. Assist learners in developing independence skills, including personal care if necessary.
8. Liaise with staff from other departments to ensure a consistent approach to education.
9. Maintain communication and liaison with colleagues to support learner education.
10. Operate within budget constraints and contribute to budget management.
11. Prioritize health and safety, report hazards, and undertake duties to minimize risks.
12. Report issues or incidents promptly to the line manager.
13. Operate in accordance with policies on safeguarding, child protection, whistleblowing, and behavior policies.
14. Participate in team meetings, supervisions, and reviews.
15. Promote the school’s positive image within the community.
16. Uphold the values and standards of the company and maintain appropriate behavior.
17. Participate in staff training and development programs.
