THE ROLE
We are looking for a Dual Warehouse Manager, with exceptional people skills, to oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all functions. You’ll manage our Warehouse team, supervising the flow of inbound and outbound goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and upholding a safe and compliant workplace.
You’ll have relevant Warehouse Management experience, including significant people management of a team of around 20-30. We’d also love you to have FMCG, retail, ecommerce or distribution experience. You’ll need to be available to work on Saturdays also.
You will collaborate with various departments to align warehouse operations with broader business objectives and service standards. Additionally, you will lead and develop the team, drive performance improvements, and take an active role in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining talent to build a high-performing workforce that supports the company’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management:
* Manage the warehouse team, including recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and performance evaluations.
* Set clear expectations and operational goals; hold team members accountable for delivery and quality.
* Lead daily team briefings to communicate plans, updates, and safety topics.
* Identify training needs and ensure team members are properly skilled in all relevant procedures and equipment.
* Address performance issues, conflict resolution, and conduct reviews in line with HR policies.
Warehouse Operations Oversight:
* Plan and manage the daily workflow of all warehouse activities including goods receiving, order picking, dispatch, stock management, and returns.
* Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
* Maintain optimal stock levels and ensure correct storage, rotation, and traceability of goods.
* Ensure that incoming and outgoing goods are handled to quality and food safety standards where applicable.
Inventory & Stock Control:
* Oversee stock control systems to ensure inventory accuracy and support regular cycle counts and audits.
* Investigate stock discrepancies and put corrective measures in place to prevent recurrence.
* Liaise with procurement, logistics, and other departments to manage supply chain coordination.
Health & Safety Compliance:
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits; ensure all incidents are properly reported and investigated.
* Promote safe use of equipment and ensure all staff have appropriate PPE and training.
* Maintain clean, organised, and hazard-free working environments.
Equipment & Facility Management:
* Oversee the use and maintenance of forklifts, pallet trucks, and other warehouse machinery.
* Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and ensure racking, doors, and infrastructure are safe and compliant.
Quality, Hygiene & Pest Control:
* Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards (where applicable), including monitoring for pest activity and cleaning schedules.
* Ensure procedures for the handling of damaged, contaminated, or out-of-date goods are followed.
Security & Site Access:
* Manage site security including access controls, visitor procedures, and locking protocols.
* Ensure all personnel and visitors adhere to safety and hygiene requirements.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
* Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, stock levels, and incident logs.
* Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, flow, systems, and procedures.
* Lead or contribute to cross-departmental projects focused on operational improvement or cost efficiency.
