Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Engineering to join them on a permanent basis. This senior leadership position is responsible for regulatory compliance and technical oversight across the organisation and will drive improvements in productivity, efficiency and broader business growth objectives, including sales support and client relations.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Act as the nominated Head of Maintenance / Chief Engineer in the organisation's CAA-approved structure.
* Oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance activities in accordance with Part M, Part ML, and Part CAO regulations.
* Ensure regulatory compliance with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and EASA standards, and maintain the highest levels of airworthiness and safety.
* Supervise and lead licensed and unlicensed engineering staff and coordinate daily maintenance schedules.
* Perform and certify maintenance tasks within the scope of B1 (Mechanical/Airframe) and B2 (Avionics) licenses.
* Liaise with the CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation) for aircraft status, planning, and record-keeping.
* Oversee the management of tooling, equipment calibration, and facility maintenance to ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
* Provide technical support and fault diagnosis on aircraft systems.
* Drive process improvement, operational efficiency, and team productivity.
* Prepare for and support CAA audits and inspections, ensuring ongoing compliance with approvals.
* Assist in recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of engineering personnel including mentoring of junior engineers.
* Engage with clients and stakeholders where appropriate to support service delivery and satisfaction.
Essential Requirements
* Current and valid UK CAA B1 and B2 licenses, with group 3 aircraft type (e.g., PA28, Cessna 172).
* Demonstrable experience in a senior engineering/maintenance management role within a Part CAW environment.
* Sound understanding of applicable UK CAA and EASA regulations, including Part ML, Part M, and Part CAO.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and make high-level decisions under pressure.
* Excellent decision-making, planning, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
