As part of their expansion, they are seeking a talented Analytical Chemist – ICP Specialist to join their Technology Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the commercialisation of cutting-edge products globally, working alongside cross-functional teams, industrial partners, and external laboratories.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP-OES) instruments, performing elemental analyses on diverse sample types. The role includes generating high-quality data, supporting research and development, and ensuring quality assurance standards for a growing customer portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate ICP instruments in line with standard operating procedures and ensure optimal performance.
* Prepare, digest, dilute, and filter samples for ICP and ancillary analyses (e.g., TSS, TOC, FTIR, UV-VIS spectroscopy, ceramic material analysis).
* Generate calibration standards, perform routine standardisation, and maintain meticulous records of all analyses.
* Analyse and interpret data, troubleshoot instrument or method issues, and formally report results.
* Collaborate with R&D teams to develop and optimise analytical methods.
* Conduct routine instrument maintenance and coordinate with service technicians when required.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards.
* Support cross-functional teams, train personnel, and liaise with external laboratories as necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

* Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field, or 2–5 years of hands-on ICP experience.
* Practical experience with ICP instrumentation from multiple OEMs.
* Knowledge of best practices in sample preparation, archiving, and data analysis tools.
* Awareness of Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety systems (ISO, HSE, EA, etc.).
* Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer-focused approach.
* Self-motivated, flexible, and willing to contribute to tasks beyond the core role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a chemist looking to advance their career in a fast-paced, innovative environment with global impact.
