Job Title: Project Engineer Location: Sealand, Deeside, Flintshire, UK Job Type: Full-time contract, 6 Months (Extension TBC) Work Model: Hybrid Summary: • We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Project Engineer to support high-priority Defence programmes. • This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop both engineering expertise and project delivery capability, working within a structured PRINCE2/APM framework. • The role involves strong cross-functional collaboration, with approximately one-third of time spent in stakeholder meetings, and requires regular onsite presence—particularly during onboarding. • Occasional travel to other Client sites may be required, including: - Abbey Wood (Bristol) - Andover - HMNB Portsmouth Key Responsibilities: Candidates should demonstrate experience in: • Leading and managing projects from planning through to delivery • Developing and maintaining system requirements, including in-service support • Producing structured business cases (strategic, commercial, financial, management) • Supporting technical solution identification, evaluation, and verification • Managing safety risks in collaboration with Engineering Authority • Providing financial management support, including: • Forecast of Outturn • In-year updates • Annual reporting cycles • Representing the function in cross-departmental meetings and technical discussions Essential Criteria: Candidates must have: Education & Qualifications: • Level 4 qualification Advanced/Higher Apprenticeship OR • Level 3 qualification Engineering Apprenticeship relevant experience • Eligibility for EngTech professional registration (UK-SPEC) • Full UK manual driving licence • Strong engineering background (ideally mechanical, with electronics exposure) • Proven project delivery experience in engineering/technical environments • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills • Role may involve handling sensitive/classified (non-nuclear) materials Desirable Skills: • Experience in Defence or regulated industries. • Knowledge of safety management practices. • Experience in technical evaluations or product assurance. • Exposure to PRINCE2/APM methodologies.
