Our client is an international law firm looking for a pragmatic and flexible Resource Manager – Work Allocation to join their busy and growing Resource Management team in their London offices on a permanent basis.
Working directly with Partners and Lawyers and helping provide Resource Management in a key practice group.
The main responsibilities for the Resource Manager – Work Allocation will be to support file allocations, capacity & utilisation tracking and helping to provide operational excellence.
Salary, £65k-£80k.
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:
* Take ownership of coordinating workload distribution across teams, ensuring work is assigned efficiently and in line with business priorities.
* Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and team members to understand upcoming demand and capacity needs.
* Maintain an ongoing awareness of individual strengths, workload patterns, and development goals to support informed resourcing decisions.
* Monitor utilisation trends and productivity metrics, working proactively with teams to optimise performance and balance competing pressures.
* Lead regular conversations with team leads and individuals to review capacity, resolve bottlenecks, and anticipate future resourcing challenges.
* Oversee the use and continuous improvement of internal resourcing systems and tools to support accurate planning and visibility.
* Review activity and time‑recording data to ensure accuracy, highlight issues, and encourage best practice compliance.
* Coordinate resourcing continuity during periods of change such as absences, onboarding, and team transitions.
* Contribute to ongoing improvements in workload planning, process efficiency, and operational resilience through data‑driven insights.
The Resource Manager will have experience in resource management, workforce planning, or a similar role ideally within a large professional or corporate environment. It is essential to possess strong interpersonal, team working and attention to detail skills. The right candidate will have outstanding stakeholder engagement skills at all levels, provide balanced, pragmatic advice around manpower planning and be highly proficient in all Microsoft Applications. The Resource Manager will have exceptional communication skills while being credible, confident & positive professional.
