Robert Half is currently partnering with a leading investment management firm to recruit an interim AI Integration & Data Engineering Specialist on an initial 12 Month FTC.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the firm’s AI strategy while supporting critical reporting and data processes across a regulated financial services environment.
Role:
* Lead the organisation’s AI integration programme, ensuring robust data security, governance controls, and appropriate access levels across diverse teams.
* Train and support internal teams (investment, operations, and support staff) to use AI tools effectively and securely.
* Collaborate with the firm’s outsourced IT provider to stay ahead of advancements in AI security, tooling, and best practices.
* Maintain and enhance the existing Python/SQL‑based reporting framework, ensuring uninterrupted delivery of business‑critical reporting.
* Support and optimise data workflows using technologies such as Docker, Postgres, REST APIs, SFTP, Websockets, and modern asynchronous/OOP patterns.
* Develop new reporting processes required by the operations function.
* Troubleshoot reporting inconsistencies, maintain automated processes, and manage virtual machine environments.
* Ensure smooth adoption of existing codebases and contribute to system improvements and migrations where appropriate.
Profile:
* Proven experience within a regulated financial services environment.
* Strong technical background including:
* Python, SQL, OOP, asynchronous design
* Docker, Postgres, REST APIs, SFTP, Websockets
* PowerQuery / DAX / M
* Core analytics libraries (pandas, numpy, scipy)
* Microsoft Graph
* Additional experience (beneficial but not essential):
* NodeJS, Grafana, VBA
* OpenAI API and AI‑tool integrations
* Cross‑OS file‑sharing
* Experience with system or data migrations
* Skilled in data processing, transformation, report development, and automated workflow management.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to diagnose reporting issues and deliver high‑quality outputs.
* Ability to quickly understand and contribute to existing development stacks.
