About the Role:
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our UK Regions Construction team for a major heritage refurbishment project in Manchester City Centre, valued at approximately £300 million. The Project Manager will collaborate with the internal fit-out delivery team to provide technical, commercial, quality, and operational support, ensuring excellence in time, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procure, manage, and program key elements of project delivery to achieve optimal outcomes for the client.
2. Maintain consistently high-quality standards and proactively identify quality issues.
3. Review project costs and controls against agreed commercial criteria.
4. Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and maintain appropriate records and reports.
5. Recognize and reward safe behaviors and practices.
6. Build and maintain external relationships with clients and contractors to enhance networks.
7. Manage the performance and development of the project team through coaching and mentoring.
Experience & Background:
8. CSCS card holder
9. In-depth knowledge of the construction industry
10. Demonstrable experience in delivering construction projects
11. Strategic thinker with visionary capabilities
12. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with trust and confidence
13. Understanding of program duration and sequencing of construction works
14. Experience in bid teams and pre-construction planning
15. Effective communication and leadership skills
16. Flexibility in adapting working methods to suit project needs
17. Ability to ensure delivery of work packages and achieve commercial targets
Desirable Experience:
18. Knowledge of technical standards and regulations
19. Familiarity with the JCT form of contract, especially Management Contracting
20. Experience with artisan and specialist trades
21. Knowledge of delivering works in heritage environments (e.g., Listed buildings)
22. Proficiency in digital technology (e.g., Aconex, Sablono, QA tools)
23. MRICS or MCIOB accreditation
