Bridlington School Science Department is looking for an enthusiastic, well organised, team player to join our team. Our aim is to raise expectations and aspirations for all our students. Our tagline is “Science: Always questioning the world around you. Bright minds. Bright futures”.
The Role
Following an increased uptake of students opting to study science, we are delighted to be growing our team.
You will have the opportunity to teach Combined Science and Triple Science at GCSE, we also have an offering of Biology, Physics and Chemistry A-Levels. The school is ambitious in growing expertise in Science and also started BTEC Applied Science Level 3 from September 2024.
The Team
We are a well-resourced department with 8 labs, 2 prep rooms and 8 teachers. We are very proud of our curriculum and how it is designed to spiral our students learning and teach them to become the scientists of the future. As a department we lead on whole school priorities and are extremely passionate about everything Teaching and Learning. Collaboration is key to the success of our department and this includes the planning of resources and CPD to ensure we remain at the top of our game. Extracurricular activities are a fundamentalpart of our department and we run successful STEM, ECO and Study Skills Clubs. The department is support by 2 technicians and 3 teaching assistants all of who are extremely enthusiastic and form an integral part of our team.

It is an exciting time to join Bridlington School as we continue to strengthen relationships with other local Education providers including nearby Secondary Schools and Primary Feeders. This provides opportunity to be involved in transition and outreach work, but also connections with peers across the local area.
The school has a genuine and sustained focus on reducing workload, particularly in relation to marking and feedback.
You will join a supportive department who can assist your own career aims including progression. Many of our senior staff joined Bridlington School as NQTs/ECTs.
