Overview

The Ranger Group have an amazing opportunity for an Operations Manager to join one of their acquisitions, Afil Ltd specialising in fire suppression. If you are dedicated, focussed and methodical this role would be ideal for you. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and growing client relationships within the fire protection and suppression industry. This role involves strategic account management, sales development, and coordination with technical teams to deliver compliant and effective fire safety solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire suppression systems, industry regulations, and a proven track record in B2B sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

* Serve as the primary liaison for assigned accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Develop long-term relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, facility managers and suppliers.
* Conduct regular client meetings to review system performance, service needs, and future opportunities.

Sales & Revenue Growth

* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and new markets.
* Prepare and present proposals for fire suppression systems, maintenance contracts, and upgrades.
* Providing clients with competitive quotes.
* Converting quotations into live jobs.

Technical Coordination

* Collaborate with engineering and service teams to design and deliver tailored fire suppression solutions.
* Ensure all solutions comply with Fire regulations.
* Support project execution from proposal through commissioning and handover.
* Vehicle fire suppression, kitchen fire suppression, portable fire extinguishers and gas monitoring training will be provided to ensure that product knowledge is up to date.
* Assist the Operations Director with any given project management tasks.

Account Strategy & Reporting

* Develop strategic account plans to drive growth and retention.
* Maintain accurate records in CRM systems (e.g., Simpro).
* Provide regular reports on pipeline, forecasts, and client feedback.
* Stock control, monitoring incoming and outgoing stock, ordering products in accordance with the Teams requirements.

Compliance & Documentation

* Ensure all contracts, proposals, and service agreements meet legal and regulatory standards.
* Stay updated on changes in fire safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Fire Protection, or related field would be desirable.
* Minimum 3–5 years of experience in operations management or sales preferably within the fire protection or building services industry is essential.
* Familiarity with fire suppression systems and standards.

Skills & Competencies

* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Technical understanding of fire suppression systems and components.
* Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in Simpro CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
