Female* Specialist Care Support Worker Location: Winchester Service: Specialist Care Shifts Available:

  • 07:00 to 17:00 - 3 days per week on a rota basis.
  • Additional hours may be available.

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Female Support Worker to join our Specialist Care team in Winchester. In this rewarding role, you will provide person-centred care to a young adult with complex needs, supporting them to lead independent, fulfilling, and meaningful lives. About the Role A rewarding role supporting an adult woman living independently in an accessible home in Winchester with 24-hour support from a dedicated team. She has complex and fluctuating health needs that can affect her mobility and may require the use of a wheelchair or walking aids at times, as well as assistance during occasional seizures. She is able to communicate her needs clearly and values support that promotes her independence, including gentle prompting with daily tasks such as medication or household activities. She enjoys remaining active in her community and lives with her friendly small dog, so being comfortable around dogs is essential. This role would suit someone reliable, positive, and approachable, who thrives in a dynamic environment and can provide both practical and social support. No two days are the same your role will include:

  • Supporting with personal care and daily living tasks
  • Assisting with cooking, cleaning, and household duties
  • Supporting attendance at appointments and community activities
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting hobbies and interests (e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, music, gaming, dancing)
  • Working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and complex care needs
  • Using positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques
  • Working in environments where pets (including dogs) may be present

About You We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting individuals with complex needs
  • Calm, resilient, and confident in challenging situations
  • Passionate about person-centred care
  • Supportive of independence and personal development
  • Willing to learn and develop professionally
  • Comfortable working in homes with pets
  • A full UK driving licence holder (essential)
