About New Barn School

About the Role
As a Secondary SEN Teacher, you’ll have the opportunity to bring creativity and expertise to the classroom. You’ll design flexible, student-centred programmes, tailor lessons to individual needs, and support pupils to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering engaging lessons across your subject areas.
2. Planning, assessing, and reviewing teaching sessions in line with curriculum developments.
3. Writing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
4. Setting achievable targets and motivating pupils to reach them.
5. Supporting social, emotional, and behavioural development.
6. Building strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote participation and confidence.
This role is perfect for teachers who are passionate about making a real impact and enjoy working in dynamic, specialist settings.
What We’re Looking For
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PGCE
8. Experience teaching at secondary level with lessons rated good or outstanding
9. Knowledge of current curriculum frameworks and SEN provision
10. Experience in specialist or SEN settings, supporting students with SEMH/EBD or complex needs
11. Creativity, patience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
