The society will cover the cost of this qualification, and once successfully completed, the employee will be eligible to move up the points. Please note, it is mandatory for this role to either already hold the qualification or begin working towards this certification once you join the society." About the role Our children's residential homes create a "home from home" environment for our children and young people. Working independently and as part of a team, you'll support children in the home and out and about in the community - getting ready for school, preparing meals, going trampolining or swimming, days out and holidays, and accessing medical appointments. Whatever their passions, you'll help them fulfil their potential and develop their independence. Job Description and Person Specification About you While we value experience, it is not essential to have previously worked in health and social care, or with autistic people. Our comprehensive induction, training and mentoring will give you all the skills and tools you need to thrive in your career. All that we ask is that you are a good team player with a can-do attitude, drive and resilience for what can be a demanding role. You should be friendly and approachable with good communication skills, enabling you to build positive, trusting relationships with the children in your care. Our staff come from all walks of life, and bring their experiences, interests and skills - be that cooking, sports, the outdoors, art or crafts - with them to enrich children's lives. About us For more than 40 years, we've led the way in providing care and education for autistic and/or neurodivergent children, young people and adults across the North-east of England. We have more than 1,200 staff working in our schools, college, short breaks, day services, residential care, supported living, employment services and family support.
