Key responsibilities:
1. Based out of the SCC Warrington branch, working as a field service engineer, configuring applications and hardware on new and existing IT devices including desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers, servers, switches/routers, and others.
2. Attend sites to provide timely, quality solutions to application and hardware problems, including reloading operating systems, building images, copying user data, identifying and replacing parts.
3. Advise customers on problems and keep them informed of resolutions, escalate calls when necessary.
4. Maintain contact with area coordinators to allocate and manage calls efficiently.
5. Report call information and parts requirements accurately.
6. Acknowledge receipt of calls, manage, update, and close calls using the agreed procedures and systems.
7. Start and finish work to meet contracted Service Level Agreements.
8. Perform duties and ad hoc projects as required.
9. Provide support for colleagues when needed.
10. Manage vehicle stock requirements, including loan devices, using the agreed procedures.
Skills and experience:
* Experienced IT Support engineer with hardware break-fix and software/OS support experience.
* Previous field-based role experience with good printer and electromechanical skills.
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, extensive hardware break-fix experience on Intel desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
* Extensive printer repair experience with major brands like HP, Lexmark, Epson.
* Familiarity with network operating systems, MS Office, Windows OS is ideal.
