Development Project Manager (Renewable Energy)

About The Role
Energia, part of Energia Group, offers an exciting opportunity for a Development Project Manager based in Belfast. The role primarily focuses on onshore wind, with potential involvement in Battery Storage, Hydrogen, and other technologies.
The responsibilities include developing onshore renewable projects, landowner negotiations, environmental and planning work, stakeholder management, and guiding projects through the planning system. You will also support other teams within the organization to ensure successful project development. Proven experience in energy project development, especially in renewables, is essential.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Obtain planning consents and handle amendments
* Manage planning compliance before construction
* Conduct planning studies, including visuals and EIAs, and oversee consultants
* Manage external stakeholders: landowners, politicians, authorities, utilities, and consultants
* Coordinate internal stakeholders: senior management, development, renewables, operations, and regulation teams
* Assess resources and optimize technology and site layout
* Negotiate with stakeholders and project partners
* Manage project risks and opportunities, and report progress
* Contribute to regulatory consultations and lobbying efforts
* Regularly report on project status
* Develop and oversee project budgets and cash flow projections
* Manage project resourcing and conduct due diligence for acquisitions
Minimum Criteria
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or related field
* Deep understanding of the renewables industry and large-scale project development
* Experience managing multiple projects with diverse resources
* Knowledge of the planning process in Northern Ireland
* Valid driving license
Desirable Criteria
* Experience managing projects through development and construction phases
* Experience with community consultation and engagement
* Knowledge of property agreements and negotiations
* Experience reviewing renewables construction contracts
* Familiarity with grid connection agreements
