Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Health Professions Council (HCPC) for Registration
2. Honours degree or equivalent in a biological science which is acceptable by Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS)
3. Completion of IBMS Registration Portfolio
Desirable criteria
4. Working towards IBMS Specialist Portfolio
5. Within 6 months of HCPC registration
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Previous experience working in Clinical Biochemistry
7. Current experience within an NHS UKAS accredited laboratory
Desirable criteria
8. Experience in equipment validation and implementation
Skills
Essential criteria
9. Practical skills associated with Good Laboratory Practice.
10. Good attention to detail and accuracy
11. Basic computer skills
12. Knowledge of common IT software
13. Handling biological specimens
Desirable criteria
14. Familiarity with Quality Management Software
15. Familiarity with Winpath software
Personal Attributes
Essential criteria
16. Able to work autonomously and as team member
17. Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills
18. Ability to prioritise.
