THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Process Engineer to support the creation, validation, and publication of digital work instructions within a manufacturing execution system (MES). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing instructions in 3DX Delmia (or a similar system for the Apriso MES), coordinating the validation chain, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure process robustness and compliance with programme requirements.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and publish digital work instructions in 3DX Delmia for the Apriso MES system (or equivalent).
• Coordinate the validation chain of work instructions, engaging with production, quality, and engineering stakeholders.
• Define and report KPIs on the validation chain to support continuous improvement.
• Align work instructions with the Product Tree, L2/L3 schedules, and ME work-to lists.
• Ensure that instructions are consistent with the DMU (Design) and MBOM (Manufacturing Bill of Materials).
• Collaborate with production teams to validate and optimise manufacturing processes across a range of activities, including but not limited to:
o Panel core cutting (cut to size)
o Panel picking (swarf removal post-machining)
o Panel edge taping
o Panel insert preparation
o Panel edge fillingTest piece manufacture and submission to materials lab
o Detail fit (rivets/inserts)
o MLI (thermal blanket) installation
o Pipe welding and bending
o Harness manufacture and installation
o Thermal hardware installation
o Structural assembly
o Avionic unit installation
o Payload unit installation

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Proven experience in process engineering within an aerospace, defence, or advanced manufacturing environment.
• Experience using 3DX Delmia and/or similar MES systems (e.g., Apriso).
• Strong knowledge of work instruction creation and validation chains.
• Familiarity with Product Tree, DMU, MBOM, and L2/L3 scheduling.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across functions.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:
• Familiarity with aerospace/defence manufacturing methods and processes.
• Experience in LEAN, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements within aerospace.
• Understanding of digital manufacturing workflows and Industry 4.0 tools.
