This isn't a service desk role where you spend all day resetting passwords and escalating tickets.It's a broad infrastructure position inside a large enterprise environment, giving you exposure to networking, servers, virtualisation, security, projects, and the opportunity to build skills across a modern technology estate.IT Network SupportChichester (5 days onsite)The opportunityYou'll join an 11-person IT team supporting a business that continues to invest heavily in its technology environment and the people responsible for running it.Reporting to the Head of IT, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving the organisation's network and server infrastructure. The role combines day to day operational support with project work, giving you the chance to work across a wide range of technologies rather than being confined to a narrow area of responsibility.What you'll be doingSupporting servers, networks, firewalls, backup platforms and core infrastructure servicesActing as a key escalation point for technical support issues across the businessMonitoring systems proactively and identifying potential issues before they become problemsSupporting the design and implementation of LAN, WAN and wireless network solutionsDelivering infrastructure improvements and IT projects alongside BAU responsibilitiesManaging Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft server environmentsMaintaining network security and supporting firewall administrationProducing clear technical documentation and user guidanceSupporting colleagues across the business with training and adoption of technologyParticipating in an on-call rota for critical incidents (approximately 1 week in 5)What you'll needVMware virtualisationMicrosoft Windows Server 2016 and aboveActive Directory and Group PolicyMicrosoft ExchangeCisco switching and VLANsFirewall technologies, ideally FortiGateInfrastructure support within a networked environmentTroubleshooting server, network and security issuesNice to haveITIL exposureMicrosoft or Cisco certificationsHP server hardwareSkype for Business or SharePointCisco wireless technologiesERP or telephony systems experienceWhat you'll get in returnCompany pension schemeLife assurance24/7 GP accessEmployee Assistance ProgrammeBenefits platformOngoing training and development opportunitiesDiscounted leisure membershipCycle to work schemeFree onsite parkingMost importantly, you'll be joining a business that actively invests in both its technology and its people.
