Learning Support Assistant
Location: West London
Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-Time Only)
Salary: £110 - £135 per day
We are looking for a passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist secondary provision supporting students aged 11-19 with Special Education Needs.
This role focuses on helping students overcome barriers to learning, providing both academic support and personal development guidance. You will play a vital role in enabling young people to build confidence, develop resilience, and achieve their potential in a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide tailored learning support across English, Maths, PSHE, Science and other key subjects for individuals and small groups.
* Reinforce subject knowledge and key skills, including literacy, numeracy, and personal development.
* Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities.
* Support positive behaviour through consistent strategies and de-escalation techniques.
* Promote inclusion and encourage participation, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
* Offer feedback to teaching staff on student progress, helping shape future planning and interventions.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role within secondary, SEN, or alternative provision settings.
* Strong subject knowledge at Key Stages 3-5 subjects.
* Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or those at risk of exclusion.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire trust and motivate learners.
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach, able to adapt to a variety of situations.
* A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their best outcomes.
