Job Overview
Exciting opportunity within our Pharmacy Goods‑In team. Positive attitude, fast‑paced environment, support efficient management of pharmaceutical supplies and stock.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect and process deliveries of pharmaceutical goods in line with NHS policies and procedures.
* Ensure accurate documentation and recording of goods received, including checking delivery notes against purchase orders.
* Maintain inventory control and ensure proper storage and organisation of stock.
* Assist in stock rotation and monitor expiry dates to minimise wastage.
* Prepare and distribute pharmaceutical supplies to relevant departments as required.
* Participate in stock checks and audits to ensure compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
* Work collaboratively with wider pharmacy and logistics teams.
* Rotate between the Brunel Pharmacy site and the off‑site warehouse, providing flexibility and adaptability to meet operational demands.
Person Specification
Education / Training
* GCSE English and Mathematics – Grade C/4 or above (Essential).
* Relevant units of Buttercups Level 2 (Pharmacy Stock Management) – Desirable.
Work Experience
* Previous experience in a warehouse, stock management or similar role – Essential.
* Familiarity with inventory management systems and dealing with stock discrepancies – Desirable.
* Experience in a Pharmacy environment, knowledge of cold chain management and unlicensed medication – Desirable.
* Proficiency in operating forklifts safely and efficiently – Desirable.
* Proficiency in operating powered and/or manual pallet trucks effectively – Desirable.
Key Skills & Abilities
* Excellent IT skills, including accurate data entry such as Microsoft Excel and other computer systems – Essential.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people (staff, suppliers, drivers) – Essential.
* Good problem‑solving skills and awareness of when to escalate appropriately – Essential.
* Good time‑management and organisational skills whilst working under pressure to achieve priority tasks – Essential.
* Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) – Desirable.
* Knowledge of Wholesale Dealer Authorisation (WDA) and Good Distribution Practice (UK GDP) – Desirable.
Personal Qualities
* Ability to perform manual handling tasks (heavy lifting, carrying, moving stock).
* Own a clean driving licence, able to travel between sites managed by NBT Trust.
* Working independently and as part of a team.
* Maintaining accuracy and focus with detailed concentration throughout repetitive daily tasks.
* Willingness to be trained and instructed, and working proactively to progress training.
* Ability to work within defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory frameworks.
* Able to work during normal working week 07:00 – 18:00 on rotation, including weekends and bank holidays as required.
Working Conditions
Band 2, Agenda for Change pay scale. In‑house pharmaceutical training provided by Pharmacy Learning and Development team. Successful completion of in‑house training and Buttercups course leads to assessment and progression to Band 3.
