Project Manager (People Workstream)
Folkestone/London Hybrid
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000
Contract Length: 12 month fixed term contract
Reporting to the Head of People, you will support the delivery of key strategic priorities within a People (HR) team.
This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager in the financial services space who is self‑starting, proactive, people‑oriented and looking for a new, challenging opportunity. You should have experience leading people or tech workstreams, preferably through change programmes. Day‑to‑day you will apply the best project‑management methodologies and principles to enable timely, budget‑friendly delivery of work.
Role Responsibilities
* Creating and maintaining good working relationships with project sponsors and various business stakeholders across the business.
* Communicating across all levels to enable clear understanding of the strategy behind project needs, design, and delivery approach.
* Preparing and presenting supporting project documentation to senior management across the business.
* Supporting a team of business professionals deployed across a range of projects to achieve excellent standards of productivity and quality.
* Being an effective negotiator, balancing alternatives and seeking win‑win solutions.
* Managing project team members and resources, including third parties and suppliers, while maintaining excellent service and ensuring project delivery to time, budget and quality.
* Communicating project status and issues to business management, IT and project teams.
* Project governance, including creation and maintenance of the project plan, highlight & progress reporting, risk and issue management.
* Working to a waterfall methodology but remaining open to new ideas and resilient to change.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience managing projects within a people workstream. Experience within Insurance and Financial Services is advantageous but not essential.
* Exposure to various methodologies, specifically Waterfall, and flexible to bring new ideas and ways of working.
* Proven experience managing cross‑divisional stakeholder and change management.
* Resilient mindset with openness to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Proven stakeholder management.
* Positive attitude to work with proactive approach to organisation and delivery.
