Role
The MPS (Managed Printer Services) Lead Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing day‑to‑day operations of MPS projects and business as usual (BAU) activities, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Support – PDI: Support project managers in the planning and execution of PDI (Pre‑Delivery Inspections) projects, assist with scheduling and logistics, facilitate onsite coordination for print device deployments, compile and maintain detailed build documents.
* BAU MPS Operations: Prepare and submit customer quotes for BAU print work, coordinate printer swaps, liaise with customers to schedule service work with minimal disruption, maintain records of BAU activities and update asset/warehouse systems.
* Printer Builds and Configuration: Build, configure, and test printers and multifunction devices according to client requirements, install appropriate drivers and firmware, ensure network readiness, work with internal teams to ensure consistency and quality, support Configuration department with other projects and BAU activity where possible.
* Stock, Documentation and Process Management: Compile and support updating build and configuration documentation, support creation and maintenance of SOPs for MPS/PDI tasks, provide feedback on process improvements, ensure stock handling in line with company policies.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience with PDI and MPS devices.
* Experience within a configuration and/or high‑value goods environment (e.g., technology or electronics).
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage across all levels of staff and customers.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
* Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and bonded warehouse controls.
* Knowledge of bonded warehouse compliance and documentation processes.
