About your team:
At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it. We power 1 in 3 UK homes, making homes greener and more energy-efficient through innovative tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers. Our Peak Save programme rewards better energy use.
This role is based in Cheltenham.
Kickstart Your Career as a Gas Engineer:
Limited spots available for 2025 ALP intake! The ALP salary starts at £32,866 and rises to £43,733 upon successful completion. Classroom training will be held at Dartford or Thatcham academies, with accommodation provided where applicable.
We understand starting in the gas industry can be challenging without experience. That's why we've created our Advanced Learning Programme (ALP), a unique opportunity for newly qualified recruits eager to build a rewarding career as gas engineers. We seek motivated and driven individuals for 2025.
What You'll Do:
* Comprehensive Training: A two-year programme with 40 weeks of classroom training and hands-on field training to build real-world skills.
* Progressive Learning: Gradually take on more responsibility, gaining practical experience with full support.
* Achieve Full Qualification: Become a fully qualified gas engineer with the knowledge and expertise to excel.
What We're Looking For:
* Qualifications: Current ACS accreditation (including CCN1, CENWAT or CEN1/WAT1, and CPA1).
* Passion and Motivation: Commitment to learning and skill development.
* Can-Do Attitude: Drive to face challenges, embrace learning, and succeed.
* Experience: While not required, 1 year of hands-on industry experience is ideal. The right attitude and motivation are most important.
* Driving: Full UK driving licence with 6 points or less.
