An established civil engineering and utilities contractor, delivering essential infrastructure across the water sector, is looking to recruit a Civils Estimator to join their expanding pre-construction team. The company has secured a strong pipeline of AMP8 work across the Thames Water region and is investing in developing its estimating capability to support long-term framework delivery. Role As Civils Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and managing cost estimates and tender submissions for water infrastructure projects. Working closely with the commercial and delivery teams, you’ll ensure that all bids are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client specifications and programme requirements. Responsibilities • Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, and rate build-ups for water and civil engineering projects • Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate pricing models • Liaise with procurement teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations • Support bid management and tender review meetings, contributing technical and commercial input • Develop and maintain cost databases and benchmarking information to improve estimating accuracy • Work collaboratively with pre-construction, design, and operations teams to ensure a seamless project handover Candidate Requirements • Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering, utilities, or water sector projects • Good understanding of estimating processes for pipeline, infrastructure, and enabling works • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Experience using estimating software such as Causeway or Excel-based systems • HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline preferred
