Primary Care Research Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner

The closing date is 15 December 2025

Great Opportunity for Qualified Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse passionate about making a difference in patient care and looking for a change from the hospital environment.

You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact delivering research in primary care and wider care settings whilst contributing towards patient care in a unique and valuable way.

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic nurse with a can‑do attitude to join our dynamic team as Primary Care Research Nurse delivering high‑powered research within primary care and wider care settings. Experienced Clinical Research Practitioners are also welcome to apply.

Whilst experience in clinical research and knowledge of the primary care environment is desirable, anyone able to demonstrate that they can apply their clinical experience to promoting and delivering research within the community can apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to confidently engage with a variety of people including General Practitioners, other medical personnel, and community leaders to encourage them to participate in research.

The job requires daily travel across sites in North Central and North East London and involves participant screening, consenting, recruiting and data collection for research studies.

Please note that this is NOT a remote working role. Consequently, there will be no working from home as per role fullfillment.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with experience in clinical research or enthusiasm to learn and explore the primary care/community research field.

We are looking for people who are confident in their ability to explore and develop new skills and opportunities to enhance patient care across our regions.

You should be able to work with limited but regular supervision, have excellent communication skills, be friendly, helpful, and flexible, and be confident and willing to take on a challenge and work under pressure while maintaining a pleasant attitude.

As a Primary Care Research Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner:

* You will be using your skills/clinical experience differently.
* You will make your clinical skills count towards creating new treatments.
* You will work with researchers, patients, community services teams, GPs, other primary care teams, non‑NHS settings (care homes, prisons, dental practices, community settings, hospices, etc.), and NIHR stakeholders.
* You will acquire new skills that count towards professional development and enhance your revalidation portfolio.
* You will have the opportunity to experience the role of a Clinical Research Nurse/CRP and see if you are drawn into this direction.
* You will have an opportunity for a change in career direction.
