Context
Apply your skills and experience to a range of significant railway and urban transportation projects, working with multiple stakeholders to provide strategies, plans and deliver associated requirements for telecoms, SCADA and information/supervision systems. Contribute to winning new business, developing capability in the UK and delivering UK, Ireland and overseas projects.
Responsibilities
* Provide telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems advice and guidance for clients in business‑as‑usual, technical refresh and new project environments.
* Apply telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems knowledge with creative and innovative thinking in a broad range of complex and non‑routine contexts.
* Provide telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems requirements and technical specifications for rail systems, stations and facilities.
* Provide support to migration planning for new, novel or complex infrastructure, rail systems and control systems.
* Lead and manage bids and projects related to telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems.
* Support business development and sales activities related to telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems.
* Build successful working relationships with team members, key customers and stakeholders that improve the value of the services we deliver.
* Promote and foster a systems culture within the current UK engineering organisation.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, systems engineering or an equivalent field, or demonstrated competency to fulfill the role requirements and experience delivering telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems consultancy in multi‑disciplined industry environments.
* Experience of systems assurance processes.
* Experience in railway and complex projects environments.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal (active listening) and written (able to write concisely).
* Ability to articulate and pitch telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems advice at both technical and non‑technical levels to key customer stakeholders.
* Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks concurrently, balancing business and client priorities.
* Ability to deliver high‑quality work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while managing client stakeholder expectations.
* Effective individual and team contributor in a multi‑discipline, matrix organisation.
* Strong interest in the latest technologies, particularly digital technologies.
* Flexibility for UK, Ireland and potential overseas travel.
* Previous significant experience on railway and urban transportation telecoms, SCADA, supervision and information systems at global system and facilities level.
