We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Fellow to join the Severe Asthma and Airways teams within the Respiratory Directorate service based at our Wythenshawe site.
The main duties of the role will be to provide diagnosis, management and treatment for patients.
Responsibilities
* Provide diagnosis, management and treatment for patients within the Severe Asthma and Airways teams at Wythenshawe.
* Work within a multidisciplinary service to deliver high-quality clinical care and patient outcomes.
* Contribute to the care pathways for severe asthma management, including monoclonal antibody therapies and bronchial thermoplasty where applicable.
* Engage in one-stop assessment clinics, MDT meetings, and regional/national education and research activities related to asthma and airway disorders.
* Collaborate with clinical leads and the broader Trust teams to support service development and research initiatives.
About the Service
* The Severe Asthma Service at Wythenshawe Hospital is a multi-disciplinary service with over 30 team members.
* It is one of the largest NHSE accredited specialist centres for initiating biologic therapies in the UK and manages approximately 1300 patients on monoclonal antibody treatments and rising.
* It is a recognised centre for bronchial thermoplasty and hosts the only sputum analysis service in the North West. The team is actively involved in asthma research and is a founder member of the Northwest Severe Asthma Network, hosting the Network with regional MDTs.
About the Airways Service
* Focuses on investigating and managing difficult-to-treat respiratory symptoms, including inducible laryngeal obstruction (vocal cord dysfunction) and breathing pattern disorders.
* Operates one-stop assessment clinics and laryngoscopy lists; participates in education and research at national and international levels.
