The Role
Are you an experienced HR professional ready to lead and inspire? Bolton Council is seeking a dynamic HR Lead to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of HR services across the council, drive strategic initiatives, and support our people to thrive.
As HR Lead, you will manage a departmental HR team and lead all operational HR processes. You’ll play a key role in delivering our People Plan, advising senior leaders, and supporting complex casework and strategic projects. You’ll also represent Bolton regionally, contribute to policy development, and champion wellbeing and equality initiatives.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing a departmental HR service and team, providing strategic HR advice on employment law, policies, and procedures and overseeing complex casework.

You’ll bring strong knowledge of employment law, excellent communication and influencing skills, and a commitment to equality, diversity, and wellbeing. Experience working with Trade Unions and leading a team is essential, while strategic thinking and data analysis skills would be a valuable asset.
