About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an Attendance and Safeguarding Officer to join our team at Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio. The aim of the role is to support the Assistant Principal in implementing a vision for excellence by providing a level of service to all stakeholders based on high standards. You will provide high standards of administrative support and a level of service that enables teachers to teach and students to learn.
Person specifications
Essential
* Educated to at least GCSE standard including Maths and English Grade C/5 or above
* Basic First Aid or willingness to undertake it
* Understanding of current DfE attendance guidance and statutory attendance procedures
* Knowledge of persistent absence, severe absence and attendance intervention frameworks
* Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and thresholds for referral
* Knowledge of barriers to attendance and strategies to support vulnerable students
* Experience of analysing attendance data and producing reports
* Experience of working directly with parents/carers to improve student attendance
* Experience of managing challenging conversations professionally and constructively
* Experience of maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive information
* Experience of multi‑agency working and referral processes
Desirable
* Experience as an Attendance Officer, Education Welfare Officer or Family Support Worker
* Experience of attendance panel meetings and legal attendance processes
* Experience of working as a Deputy DSL or within safeguarding teams
* Experience of using Bromcom attendance reporting tools
