Position Title: Cost Analyst Department: Finance Location: Dundee, United Kingdom Reports to: Finance Director Position Summary: The Cost Analyst role is part of the Dispenser Business Unit (DBU) and is based in Dundee. This is the main manufacturing operation in Europe for Dover Fueling Solutions and produces fuel dispensers. Reporting to the Finance Director for Dundee, this is a key finance role within a dynamic, growing business requiring a high calibre individual. This role is central to the finance structure and will be highly visible within the Dundee operation. The Cost Analyst position incorporates a blend of accounting, costing and business partnering, requiring a high calibre individual who is strong interpersonally, self-motivated, flexible and possesses excellent business acumen. Experience in the manufacturing industry is desirable. The individual must be capable of analysing financial data and producing insightful management information, coupled with developing robust working relationships within the Dundee operation. In particular, it is essential that the individual can provide sound financial guidance to aid decision making. Responsibilities The main function of the role is to support the Dundee operations and provide clear management of all areas of cost. Preparation of monthly cost reports including commentary and performance analysis, ensuring timely follow up and development of an action plan for any issues highlighted Driving strong pro-active cost control and analysis - understanding product cost trends, driving cost reductions and controlling fixed costs Supporting the product cost tracking program ensuring timely reporting Financial control of Inventory - trends and movements - support inventory reduction Ownership of the Standard Cost setting process Participating in various factory wide NPD and Cost Reduction projects and initiatives Input into the budget and business plan Input into the preparation of financial forecasts Desired skill requirements, competencies and experience Graduate calibre with high academic achievement and relevant professional qualification Previous experience within a manufacturing environment or related sector desirable, either in current or in a previous role Strong proactive communicator with the ability to engage and influence at all levels Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively Strong team player with flexible attitude to work priorities Brings enthusiasm and passion for business, underpinned by first class technical abilities The information contained within this overview is not intended to be all-inclusive.
