Salary: GBP50000 - GBP65000 per annum
Joining a Fortune Global 500 business as a Tax Accountant, you will be reporting to the Head of Tax, working closely with stakeholders across various departments, and part of the Financial Control, Tax, and Treasury Department. You will be responsible for ensuring corporate tax compliance for our client, and providing accurate tax forecasting and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you’ll also serve as a business partner, offering tax-related advice and support. This includes handling ad-hoc queries, delivering training, and identifying potential tax opportunities and risks.
The important work you will be doing:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing and filing UK corporate tax returns, optimising the UK tax burden and cash flow through deductions and reliefs, and producing the group relief matrix and Quarterly Instalment Payment estimates. This role also involves preparing tax notes under UK GAAP, ensuring compliance with international tax obligations, and overseeing Irish subsidiary tax compliance.
Additional tasks include preparing tax provisions for US GAAP reporting, monthly reconciliations of tax accounts, quarterly ETR forecasting, and year-end reporting. You'll also assist with VAT returns for the UK and Ireland, maintain HMRC/ROS portals, and submit required reports to HMRC.
Moreover, you'll handle ad-hoc reports, respond to Global Group Tax queries, manage audits, and support special projects as needed.
The skills you will bring: (but don't worry if you don't tick 100% of the boxes)
* ACA, ACCA, ATT newly qualified or equivalent. Working towards (or keen to undertake) CTA would be advantageous.
* Strong tax accounting skills, knowledge of US GAAP preferred, but not a prerequisite.
* Ideally you will come from an accountancy background within professional services, current or prior experience.
