Job Overview
The Lead Infection Prevention Nurse / Practitioner will provide specialist infection prevention & control support, guidance and leadership for clinical teams and care providers both in hospital and community settings. The role seeks a confident and competent practitioner and leader who practices within the sphere of their professional code of conduct and health board policies. This is a secondment for 6 months to cover maternity leave; only staff currently employed by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board are eligible to apply.
Main Duties of the Job
They will lead a team of infection prevention nurses/practitioners on a specified hospital site or in community localities, providing Infection Prevention and Decontamination resource and support across the health board, and for independent providers of health and social care. The overarching aim of the infection prevention service is to reduce the incidence of preventable infections for hospital in‑patients and people receiving care in community settings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
