Job Description
We are seeking an Experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the technical capabilities of one of our major client's Design Authority (DA) near Helensburgh. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in Mechanical Design, as well as those with experience in Mechanical Installation or Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver technical excellence in specifying, producing, and assessing design packages for infrastructure.
* Define reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure systems.
* Assess work control procedures for infrastructure maintenance.
* Evaluate infrastructure design, material state, and ageing mechanisms to ensure safe operation of facilities.
* Promote a safety and security culture in all work practices.
* Act as an intelligent customer, ensuring safety-related contracts meet all requirements.
Position Requirements
Essential:
* Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with knowledge of systems like pump systems, cranes, HVAC, pressure systems, and diesel generators.
* Experience in the nuclear or high-hazard industries (preferred but not essential).
* Ability to develop practical and cost-effective solutions for plant infrastructure modifications.
* Strong understanding of British and international design standards.
* Proven ability to make evidence-based decisions using multiple data sources.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong time management skills.

Qualifications
Key Requirements:
* HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Knowledge of Design Intent for mechanical/electronic Infrastructure in high-hazard industries like nuclear.
Desirable:
* Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience.
* Degree or equivalent in engineering.
