As a Product Assurance Engineer at Spire, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of our space systems as we expand our fleet and take on new missions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in aerospace, space, or other high‑reliability environments who is looking to deepen their expertise and contribute directly to mission success. You will work closely with senior PA staff, engineering teams, and project managers to support the full lifecycle of Product Assurance activities.
What You'll Do:
You will support the implementation of Product Assurance processes across assigned projects or subsystems, including:
Contributing to the definition and flow‑down of PA requirements based on customer and project specifications
Supporting compliance verification activities and helping document/justify deviations where required
Assisting in the development and maintenance of Project PA Plans and ensuring they are followed throughout the project lifecycle
Participating in reviews, audits, and technical meetings, providing PA input as needed
Supporting the management of non‑conformities internally and with suppliers, ensuring proper documentation and visibility
Helping prepare, review, and maintain project Quality documentation
Supporting reliability, dependability, and safety analysis activities under guidance from senior PA staff
Contributing to supplier quality oversight, including documentation reviews and participation in supplier meetings
Assisting with hardware qualification, component selection, and technology validation activities
Supporting risk management processes and contributing to mitigation planning
Helping capture and promote lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across projects
Main Interfaces:
Spire Program Manager and PMO team
Spire Program Delivery and Engineering teams
Customer PA representatives (with support from senior PA staff)
Supplier and partner QA representatives
Key Skills:
Experience in the space, aerospace, or other high‑reliability engineering domain
Understanding of Product Assurance or Quality Assurance principles
Familiarity with standards used in high‑reliability environments (e.g., ECSS, NASA, DO‑254/178, ISO)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Detail‑oriented mindset with a structured approach to documentation and compliance
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of ECSS standards (or willingness to learn)
Experience with non‑conformity management tools or quality systems
Exposure to reliability, safety, or dependability analysis
Proactive, curious, and eager to develop within the Product Assurance discipline
Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role. If needed, Spire will arrange the necessary licenses—this is not something candidates need to have before applying.
