In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: kindness. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Everyone here understands that our Residents are individuals with their own stories. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
Your responsibilities will include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love. You'll maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether you're managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters, or cleaning spills, your focus will always be on Resident wellbeing.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience. You should have either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or be willing to study for one. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. You should communicate considerately and kindly with Residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional relevant training. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns appropriately.
We offer full training, providing a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you'll enjoy a variety of benefits, including:
* Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Free uniform
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
* Group life assurance
* Wagestream for flexible access to pay
* Learning and development opportunities, including qualifications
* GP online service for you and your children under 16
* Learning from experienced colleagues within a supportive team
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
* Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 support
* Recognition schemes like 'Kindness in Care' and Long Service Awards
* Refer a friend scheme up to £1000 per referral
We are committed to diversity and inclusion, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds. We aim for a quick onboarding process so you can start with us as soon as possible.
