Job Introduction
This is a dual clinical and leadership position within HCRG’s Community Specialist Dental Service across multiple Surrey sites. You’ll provide specialist dental care to patients with complex needs—those with physical, sensory, intellectual, or mental disabilities, medically compromised patients, anxious patients, and children—while also taking operational ownership of the service’s day‑to‑day running. The role spans clinic, hospital, domiciliary, and out‑of‑hours settings.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist dental care including sedation (IV, inhalation, intranasal), GA pathways, and domiciliary visits
* Lead operational management: KPIs, capacity planning, budgets, reporting, and service development
* Line‑manage dentists, dental nurses, and therapists including appraisals, recruitment, and HR processes
* Drive clinical governance: audits, CQC compliance, incident management, and quality improvement
* Liaise with commissioners (ICB) and develop service‑level agreements alongside the Director of Community Services
The Ideal Candidate
* BDS, full GDC registration, NHS Performer number, and on the GDC specialist list
* Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience in paediatric/special care dentistry (CDS/HDS/GDS)
* Proven operational and staff management experience
* Competent across multiple sedation modalities and domiciliary care
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Surrey sites
