The Role This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior commercial property solicitor (10 PQE) to take on a Head of Department / Partner role. You will lead a busy and expanding department, combining hands-on fee earning with strategic leadership, business development, and client relationship management. You will oversee a wide caseload including: Land development and real estate finance. Landlord & tenant transactions, lease renewals. Purchases and sales of businesses and investment properties. General commercial conveyancing. As a leader, you will be responsible for shaping the department’s strategic direction, driving financial performance, and nurturing a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Key Responsibilities Lead and grow the Commercial Property team, supporting and mentoring junior lawyers. Deliver high-quality, pragmatic advice to a wide-ranging client base. Drive business development, networking, and marketing initiatives (face-to-face and online). Manage departmental budgets, financial performance, and compliance. Develop and maintain strong client and third-party referrer relationships. Contribute to the firm’s growth strategy as part of the senior leadership team. About You 10 years’ PQE in commercial property with strong technical expertise. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent client care and communication abilities. Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving income and departmental growth. Established network of clients and referrers. Collaborative, motivated, and forward-thinking.
