Job Description
Morgan Hunt is currently recruiting for a permanent Electrician role based in the Highlands. This role offers a 40-hour week contract, with opportunities for overtime and standby payments.
The Electrician will undertake cyclic and reactive repairs to electrical street lighting across the North West of Scotland. The successful candidate will work within shift requirements and participate in an emergency standby rota. Periods away from the operational base may occasionally be required.
Role includes:
* Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults efficiently to minimise disruptions to road users.
* Adhering to safety standards and regulations to ensure the safety of the public and team members.
* Providing technical expertise and recommendations for continuous improvements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Familiarity with BS7671 standards.
* Experience in inspecting and maintaining private electrical supplies.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under demanding conditions.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* In-depth knowledge of electrical safety regulations and practices.
* Willingness to work in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
* A fully approved UK driving license.
* MEWPS ticket or IPAF is highly desirable.
Benefits:
* Standby cover 1 in 5, earning £121.56 per week.
* Overtime paid at 1.5x day rate.
* Night shift pay at 1.3x within 40 hours, and 1.8x for night hours over 40 hours.
* Pension contributions up to 6% matched.
Holidays:
You are entitled to 20 days holiday (pro-rata) per year, increasing by 1 day per year of service up to 24 days. Additionally, you will receive 1 extra day (pro-rata) for every five years of service, up to 5 extra days.
This role may also be considered on a temporary basis.
