* Base salary range: $153,165 - $159,132 plus 17% superannuation.


About the area

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous (PVCI) leads the University’s Indigenous Portfolio, driving strategy, programs and initiatives that strengthen Indigenous student success, leadership and participation across UWA.

The Portfolio provides strategic oversight of the School of Indigenous Studies and works closely with key entities — including the Berndt Museum and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health to deliver multi‑disciplinary teaching, research and culturally informed support services.

The Head of the Indigenous Students Centre plays a key leadership role in the recruitment, participation, access, retention and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. This team works in partnership with communities and stakeholders to support current and future Indigenous students enhancing the strategic direction and operational management of indigenous programs and initiatives


About the opportunity

* Lead the Indigenous Students Centre, driving high ‑quality programs that enhance access, retention and success for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
* Oversee the design, delivery and evaluation of student services, including scholarships, wellbeing initiatives and regional support while ensuring culturally safe, respectful and inclusive experiences.
* Build and strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities, internal partners and external stakeholders to attract, engage and support Indigenous students throughout their university journey.


About you

* You are an Indigenous person with a strong commitment to Indigenous student success, wellbeing and community engagement.
* You bring relevant tertiary qualifications and experience, with a proven track record leading Indigenous student programs, services or initiatives in complex environments.
* You have demonstrated experience working in genuine partnership with Indigenous people and communities, and embedding Indigenous perspectives into student support, policy and decision-making.
* You are a collaborative and capable leader who builds respectful relationships, supports and develops staff, and manages programs and priorities with integrity.

You bring sound knowledge of Western Australia education systems and Indigenous higher education, and the confidence to influence positive outcomes for Indigenous students.


Note

Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to meet legal obligations.

A current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, and “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.
