At DLG Legal Services, our mission is to make law easy and accessible to everyone. As part of the Direct Line Group, we provide legal services to over 50,000 DLG customers each year. Customers can access our legal Advice-line team and our growing list of services includes personal injury, employment, property, inheritance, and contract litigation. We also support our parent group, litigating on their behalf.
As the team takes on more responsibilities, it means we now have an exciting opportunity for as experienced Team Leader to join our Bristol based Property Litigation team, on full-time and permanent basis .
The role
Reporting to Commercial Operations Manager, you will lead a team acting for clients on a range of property litigated and non-litigated claims and managing these from initial assessment stage to resolution.
What you'll be doing
Strategic management of team productivity, ensuring that claims are resolved as pro-actively, cost-effectively and proportionately as possible, while meeting new claims targets and objectives.
Allocating and managing workloads to meet DLG Legal Services service standards
Ensuring that the team manages clients’ expectations and explains decisions and the steps in the claims process clearly and succinctly, treating them fairly at all times.
Ensuring that the team recover costs wherever possible, liaising with third party suppliers to ensure external supplier costs are as low as possible, and that opportunities for income generation are identified and pursued.
Acting as an expert on relevant areas of property law, providing specialist technical and/or legal oversight to support the team and applying legal knowledge and experience to solve problems in novel situations while ensuring that all legal advice is accurate and correct.
Proactively identifying trends and using relevant data/information to understand emerging issues.
Unlocking the full potential of the team through engagement, identifying and arranging learning and development, coaching and feedback, both individually and collectively.
Role modelling, through positive behaviours, continuous improvement principles and effective problem solving.
To support the strategic development of the department and firm by developing best practice and improving the client experience through continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop self in order to maximise personal contribution to your role.
What we're looking for
Recent experience of dealing with property disputes of all complexities.
Experience of supervising others and leading property claims is helpful.
The ability to evidence delivering a very high standard of work, an excellent level of service to customers, and dedicated management of deadlines also required.
You will either need to be a Solicitor or Legal Executive or have strong legal background at an appropriate level.
