Role Overview This hybrid technical and managerial role is crucial to delivering robust M&E solutions from conception to completion. You'll play a key part in shaping designs, evaluating value, liaising with clients and contractors, and ensuring technical excellence across all stages. Key Responsibilities Pre-Contract Phase Review and interpret client enquiries and tenders, both concept and clean-sheet designs. Develop tailored M&E solutions in collaboration with design partners and manufacturers. Prepare M&E tender documents and risk commentaries. Lead or support client meetings, site visits, and technical interviews. Identify and propose Value Engineering options. Analyse sub-contractor quotations and recommend selections. Assist with procurement schedules, installation programmes, and PQQs. Draft technical documentation including: Specifications Design drawings Equipment schedules Programme of works Landlord/building regulation submissions Post-Contract Phase Review final scopes and costings for MEP works. Assist in procurement of materials, labour, and specialist services. Evaluate technical aspects of supply chain proposals for value and feasibility. Review subcontractor variations and financials. Oversee implementation of utility services (gas, power, water, telecoms). Monitor and report MEP progress on-site, including contributing to project management reporting. Support document control processes and validation scopes. Assist with MEP closeout and commissioning preparation. Commissioning Manage and review commissioning processes and schedules. Oversee client handover and training for MEP systems. Technical Requirements HVAC expertise is essential, with broader M&E knowledge highly desirable. Strong design coordination skills with tools such as Hevacomp and other HVAC design platforms. Understanding of electrical, plumbing, and fire systems is advantageous. Familiarity with relevant building regulations, validation procedures, and commissioning requirements. Person Specification Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience. Proven track record in the construction and M&E sector. Strong IT and document control skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships (clients, partners, suppliers). Proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
