Lead the development of the Pathway's provision to ensure effective study programmes and support for learners with specific needs. Create a supportive environment promoting transition, progression, and learner success by utilizing all available resources and adopting a person-centred approach.
Responsibilities and accountabilities
* Teach a caseload of 5 hours per week.
* Manage a team of teachers and a Deputy Curriculum Manager to optimize deployment and learner progress.
* Oversee the Pathway curriculum, coordinating with other managers for seamless study programme delivery.
* Collaborate with Safeguarding & Behaviour and Clinical Teams to maintain outstanding behaviour management.
* Develop enterprise and employability activities with external partners and the employability team to enrich the curriculum.
* Create an environment that promotes outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment. Support staff development towards outstanding practice.
* Lead the annual self-assessment and quality improvement processes for the Pathway.
* Develop and implement an annual improvement plan for teaching and learning, including staff training.
* Ensure effective use of learning resources, especially for outside formal activities.
* Drive continuous improvement in learner experience and outcomes in line with the Quality Improvement Strategy.
* Manage standardisation and verification processes, liaising with external Standards Verifiers.
* Use Databridge and Strata to monitor performance data and implement remedial actions.
* Work with teachers and Progress Coaches to promote excellent attendance.
* Integrate ILPs and the Hereward Approach into the curriculum to maximize individual progress.
* Ensure accurate target setting and progress recording for learners.
* Support learners’ transition into the Pathway and out into employment or further study.
* Develop employer partnerships to inform curriculum and support progression.
* Embed employability activities within the curriculum and coordinate with industry links.
* Coordinate with the Exams Officer for course registration and documentation.
* Engage with the Admissions Manager to ensure effective admissions processes and provide IAG.
* Promote equality and diversity throughout the curriculum, aligning with the College’s plan.
* Maintain and develop personal skills through research and training.
* Contribute to College strategies, policies, and procedures.
* Support Green Skills and Sustainability initiatives, including the Green Skills Roadmap.
* Manage the departmental budget effectively.
* Perform other duties as requested by line management.
