We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our HR team. The Payroll Specialist will need to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees in accordance with UK legislation, company policies, and contractual obligations. The Payroll Specialist plays a key role in maintaining payroll systems, resolving payroll queries, and supporting HR Manager with payroll-related reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
1)Process monthly payrolls for all companies including BIE, BUK, BFUK, Pensioners and EXPATS (Modified PAYE Scheme) by:
* processing starters, leavers, and changes to contracts.
* Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, including PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and pension contributions.
* Maintaining and update payroll records and employee data in the HR/payroll system.
* Preparing and submitting RTI (Real Time Information) and EPS (Employer Payment Summary) reports to HMRC.
* Administering auto-enrolment pension schemes and liaise with pension providers.
2)Producing P45s, P60s, P11D(b) and other statutory documentation as and when required.
3)Respond to employee queries regarding pay slips, tax codes, and deductions.
4)Administer all salary sacrifice schemes e.g. Cycle to Work and Electric Car Scheme,
5)Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end processes.
6)Support internal and external audits by providing payroll data and documentation.
7)Collaborate with HR Manager to ensure accurate budgeting, reforecasting and reporting.
8)Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
9)Support with the creation of EXPAT Tax Return by submitting accurate information to our external consultants.
10)Complete all statistical information for the company including, but not limited to:
* Private Health scheme management
* Tracking BIE’s headcount
* DE & I statistics
* Gender Pay Gap
* Annual Pay Increase spreadsheet
* Grade report
11)To support the HR Manager, on ad-hoc project.
About you
* Proven experience in UK payroll processing and understanding of processing a modified PAYE Scheme.
* Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
* Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. IRIS - Star, or similar).
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* CIPP qualification or working towards.
* Experience with integrated HR and payroll systems.
